Cartoons & Cocktails Coming Soon

The 24th Annual Cartoons & Cocktails Auction, the largest auction of editorial cartoons in the United States, will be held on October 20, 2011, from 6 PM to 9 PM at the Newseum in Washington, DC.  This will be your chance to bid on and buy original artwork while benefitting two very worthy non-profit organizations: Cartoonists Rights Network International and Young D.C., a local organization that teaches teens journalism skills.

The price of admission is $75.  A ticket to the event provides access to a silent auction of over a hundred original strip and editorial cartoons, and a very entertaining live auction, featuring media celebrities, of over another two dozen cartoons.  Also included in the price of admission is a delicious meal provided by Wolfgang Puck's Source Restaurant, a free drink ticket at the cash bar, and, a bid paddle. Tickets and more information are available at the Cartoons & Cocktails Website.

For the first time, Cartoons and Cocktails will be held at the Newseum's Knight Conference Center.  The Newseum is located at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20001.  For those taking the Metro, the Newseum is a short walk from the Archives/Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter Metro Station.

Whether you're a casual fan or a serious collector, you will find a work of art that you can afford to buy and can't afford to live without.  We hope you'll support free speech by joining us and all our sponsors including (among others) The Washington Examiner, the Bureau of National Affairs, Inc., and Politico.com at this fun event.
